|Monday, April 14th 2008 - Dubai: The Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) welcomed it's newly appointed Board of Trustees at the opening of its 7th bi-annual Board of Trustees meeting. |
Composed of 21 internationally renowned scholars in the field of arbitration, the Board gathered at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss issues pertaining to the further development and provision of world class arbitration services in the region. Mr. Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, opened the meeting by expressing his delight in the achievements of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre as well as the future goals it has set out for itself.
Keeping with it's tradition of offering a variety of services to the community, the 7th DIAC Board of Trustees meeting coincides with three training courses, each spread over a span of three days available in both English and Arabic. The training courses, organized in coordination with Kings College London and the Lebanese University, closed with a graduation ceremony and gala dinner on its third and final day. Ending this busy week of various events is a roundtable seminar focusing on development of commercial arbitration in the Middle East.
